12/89 or 12/96?

I have good results using Wella 12/81 on a warm base 7 but for my client I thought I would try 12/89 or 12/96 adding a small amount of /81 mixtone. Does anyone have any preference of these two??

I find that 12/89 is the best lift (cleanest) I get with highlift. 12/81 I find leaves a hue on tge hair and looks dull sometimes.

I would say no to the mix tone as itiwill end up being more like 12/81 again.
