Is the carbide bit ok if I accidentally dropped it? My friend and I were looking at the coarseness of our coworker’s new bit and my friend tried to put it in my hand and it fell on the ground. I just feel guilty for the incident but haven’t had the heart to tell my coworker yet. I’ve dropped a sanding bit before and it still worked fine. I guess I should prepare to buy her a new one :( I guess what I am asking is....how much force/pressure is needed to bend a carbide bit to the point where you can no longer use it?

If you try it and feel any vibration - the shaft will have bent and it’s knackered
I’ve dropped mine twice and had to replace the bit. I always keep spares now, and have put a small hook on my desk to stop the drill hand piece from rolling off
