Acrylic & gel together?

Hey everyone!
Curious...can you build your nail with acrylic and add the French tip with white build up gel? Even adding the white builder and doing an ombre?? Anyone tried it?

It will work but not in the long term, the gel is too soft to adhere to the l&p for an extension edge, if you put it under any stress it will probably break across the join. You could build the entire nail with l&p then put gel over the end for purely ombre colour.
