Hiya. I qualified in gel polish & acrylic nail extensions in July but I'm really struggling with my acrylics. I have done about 6 sets since qualifying and I know it's going to take me a good while to properly get the hang of it, but I'm getting so dis-heartened about it so quickly. I'm finding the process is taking me at least 2 hours for one set and I'm struggling most with applying the acrylic around the cuticle area. Does anybody have any videos they advise I watch? Any advice will be so much appreciated, I don't want to give up! I just want to be good at them..

This video really helped me! :) hope it plays as not tried to link a video before lol

Great thank you Kelly! I was taught to put my first bead on the tip of the nail but I might start from the cuticle instead, quite a few tutorials I've watched start at the cuticle. X

We start at the tip unless we go for a specific design
Greg starts at the cuticle because he shows cuticle application!

Don't give up!!! DO you have a training hand? If you look at my post a couple of weeks ago I was feeling the same way. I have just kept practicing on my training hand and things are clicking into place. Someone kindly recommend a video on I tube by Greg Salo on cuticle application. It def helped!! X

Thank you Jackie, I have got a training hand so I'll keep practising on it and the tutorial has been really helpful. I won't give up on it, just want to start enjoying it more!

I'm sure you will. I have been so frustrated trying to get it right. I did think what the hell have I done. But slowly I've seen improvements. I eat sleep and drink nails at the moment. It's driving me crazy, I need to get clients and start doing and stop putting obstacles in my way. Keep going xxx
