I only do gel overlays at my shop. We rehab a lot of acrylics. I soak off the gel and then do a gel overlay. I was using CND Brisa lite but since they discontinued it I have switched to Akzentz Options Crystal Clear. I love it and have had great success!!! Also their product Luxio Build is wonderful! All soak off easily and is great for natural nails.

Once they soaked off it's best to try have an ibx treatment every 2 weeks or till you feel they better.

However they shouldn't be ruined...
improper prep and bad removal is what ruins your natural nails, Not acrylics.

Just keep using solar or nurture oil daily and perhaps apply Calgel which gels which is able to respire meaning allows air to come up and pass on your nails. So they should not be weak after, and they don't use any primers or acids before applying the gel.
