How long does it take everyone to put a full set on a client? I use L&P nail tips and polish. It takes me close to two hours. I know I'm still new only 3 months into acrylics, but my clients want in and out. They tell me that a full service nail salon can get done in an hour for a full set.

Hi Annette, I am taking 1.5 - 2 hours a year down the track. The lady I trained with (15+years experience) does it in 1.25 hours.
I am transitioning over to sculptured acrylics (forms) and e-filing to finish to cut down on my appointment times further and this is through a TONNE of practicing and a specialized e-filing course.
I was told during my training that clients don't mind sitting for 2 hours for a professional job but anything over that.... they get antsy.

13 years doing nails, I use hand files not electric

I can do a set in an hour but it is an almighty rush, that would also be clear not pink & white

I usually tell people to allow 1.5 hours then there's time for a cup of tea and a bit of chatter which makes for a nicer experience

In the earlier days it took longer but i would say to anyone starting out, don't worry about the time just do the best set of nails you can because THAT is what they will take away with them and THAT is what will get you recommendations and repeat business

Take the time to do everything properly, don't skimp on your prep, build a strong shape and finish it nicely , sod the clock lol

You'll speed up in time without even trying.

Thank you! I guess I am just being too hard on myself or insecure. I hand file most of my clients. I only use my efile on very close fiends of mine for practice until I'm better with using it.
Back to more practicing!
