hi all,
A friend/client of mine decided she wouldn't wait for her normal appointment with me so she took herself off to sallys and bought KP 12/11 instead of her usual 12/1 and stuck it on!!

Surprise, Surprise it went too ashen and she rung me in tears!! Obviously the ashiness will reduce with time but she isn't prepared to wait lol!!

With the current silver/white trends in hair we can all tone out gold till the cows come home!! ;) but when it come to adding gold im looking for some advice/ reassurance please!

What would everyone recommend please!

Thanks in advance

Pixie xx

Hi Pixie85 Im still pretty new to colour correction but i was taught that if you try to put golden tones on top of ash then it will turn green...as in if you think of mixing colours...blue(ash) mixed with yellow(gold) will make green. You' need to remove the ash first with a colour remover or mild bleach bath and then apply target shade/tone.
Maybe some of the more experienced geeks will have a short cut or quick fix for your problem though..x

I'm also new to toning colour correction. But I am doing a recap course at the moment. On my course I put a platinum toner on and it grabbed on the porous/damaged hair. Tutor told me to put a 12/0 straight with 40 vol. And watch it until tone removed. Took 10 mins. But worked.
