Hi,

I am looking to train in nail technique and eventually see clients from home. It's something I have always wanted to do, I have three small kids and would like to stay at home with them but still earn a little extra money in the evenings and at weekends and we have the space at home to dedicate an area to this.
I have no formal experience so far. I have been having enhancement for the past 10 years or so, at first Acrylics and then gels. I would like to train to do gels, but am unsure which system to go with.
I have had Biosculpture myself, which I loved but I have heard that the cost of the products is high so therefore I would have to charge my customers a high fee too. I have been unable to find someone doing biosculptures in my area so that looks promising, but I can't help feeling there is a reason why!!
What other systems are there and what are the pros and cons of each?
Thanks for your help in advance!

Welcome to salongeek.

Where gels are concerned, there are almost an infinite amount of soak off gels to choose from. To list pros and cons of each would take someone hours (even if they knew). Bio is certainly not the only choice .. There are dozens and many that are less expensive.

I suggest you do a search here on the site for product brands in the same category such as: biosculpture, Calgel, NCO, LCN, Akzents, etc. Or topics such as 'soak off gels' etc. And get a little feel for what is around.
