It's been years and years that I haven't had a single treatment other than the occasional coconut oil hair mask, I have what I would call a medium shade of brown hair (sorry I'm not a professional) but I'm wanting to go lighter after I have my baby (I'm due any second now). I'm looking to go to a strawberry blonde, it's it possible to go lighter like that without it frying my hair?

Go and get a few consultations and find a hairdresser you feel comfortable with ☺ I'm sure if they're competent you'll get the results you want with minimum damage! ☺

If you're a colour Virgin, remember that any major colour change will require regular upkeep otherwise, it will start looking awful.

Providing you're prepared for the increased time and money necessary for maintaining it, as the guys have said, have a few consultations and go with whoever you feel happy with.

I'm not looking to do it myself I'm definitely in the market for a professional I'm just concerned with the damage it will do to my hair

From the look of your pictures, you will have to have your hair lightened quite a bit to reach your target shade. I higher end salon that uses premium products can accomplish this with little damage.
