Hi Everyone

Can anyone help or advice me?

I am renting a room and opening up soon i have been getting all my stuff sorted out taking it to the salon so everything is in place for when i open.

After sifting through bits and peices that I dont need which the other therapist left I have found that she has left behind her client record cards and I clearly dont know what I should do with them?

Do I find a contact number for her and let her know?
or
As she is no longer in the business IS it ok for me to inform her client list that I am the new therapist OR is it againt the law to be able to do that??

I know that clients are striclty confidential material but she has left them behind I only want to do whats best and dont want to do anything ellegal

so please advise and help me on this matter

personally i would call her and give them back as clients that she has done in past months could still put in a complaint about her and make a claim against her so in her defence she my need them.

i took over a room form someone and she gave me a client list some of them where happy and came to me i had 3-4 ask where i had got there details from so you have to be careful.

this is just my view and experiance

Hi Lavanda Rose

Good luck on the opening of your salon.

I would call the previous owner and tell her that she has left her client list behind. Give her the change to collect them is she wants to (She might feel abit silly for leaving them behind if she wants them back, I don't think I would have the nerve to call and ask for them back, she might have your number ect.)

That way if she does not want them and gives you her permisson for you to take them over you will not feel bad and I know if I fould them and used them I would be looking over my shoulders all the time.

Well hope this help and again GOOOOOODDDDD LUCKKKKKK

This is a data protection thing
You need to get in touch with the therapists, ask her if she wants them back, if she does then give them to her,
if she isn't bothered about them and is happy for you to take on these clients you need to ask her to write you a letter to confirm that she doesnt want them no more and is happy to pass the details onto you,
you are then responsible for the safe keeping of the information hth.

If you had bought a salon and had the record cards from the previous owner all the paper work for the data thing would be in the legal documents.
