Hi :)

I have had a consultation and skin test today with a mobile hairdresser and I'm wanting a bit of advice.

I'm currently a box colour number 9 and wanting a really natural/subtle blonde ombre keeping my ends the same colour and going darker on top. I don't want to be able to see a line just a really natural progression if this makes sense?

Anyway the lady who came today said that she would need to put her own number 9 on my ends , is that right? is there anyway I can keep the ends without putting anything on it or is that a stupid question? I'm just conscious of doing any damage to the ends of my hair unnecessarily.

Thanks

hoping what I've written makes sense.

If you're happy with the blonde your hair already is then she doesn't have to put a colour over it.

It's impossible to answer without seeing your hair in person. Did you use a box colour to lighten it? How dark was it originally? Does it feel very dry?

Usually an ombré involves lightening the ends and feathering it upwards so that there's a gradual colour change from dark to light.

It's a trickier process if you have to start at the root area with a darker colour and blend to a lighter shade.

I'm naturally about a Level 7 and yes was used to lighten it but now I want to go darker at the roots (medium blonde) and then getting lighter. It's hard to explain as i obviously aren't an expert lol I just wondered if there was any way to avoid putting anything on the ends. I want them to stay as they are .

Trickier yes, but if she's happy with the lightest blonde then colour shouldn't be added to it.

Did she say why she'd need to colour it?

Oh and no it doesn't feel particularly dry I use a deep conditioning treatment once a week and redken anti snap once a month plus alternate between moisture and protein shampoos and conditioners. The condition isn't too bad but I really want to grow it. I asked for a trim last week and lost 3 inches so need it to grow back lol.

Sorry just saw other reply. My phone is rubbish!
No she didn't say why and I just took her word for it but then did wonder after she left.

Tell her you don't want any colour on the ends.
I can't see why she can't just add the dark. If she refuses and insists on redoing the blonde then go elsewhere
