I don't think so because it's an optional for your prep.

i think i'll make an order ! just thinking of all the £££,s i've spent on calgel and i might have only needed a little pot of base and gloss !!!

I was using Calgel for my soak off gel in the salon, but the workability and every thing with Akzentz has turned me into this product for soak off gel.

I'll be honest and say I don't like using soak off gels as a matter of course, but if the client needs it for lifestyle etc or even requests it, as sometimes they do, I'll be using the Akzentz Options.

This might just be me, so bare with me....but do you ever get bubbling and yellowing on the white as soon as you take it out of the lamp with Calgel?

thanks cathie i've hijacked your thread, sorry x

No worries....hijack away! And I bet your f/e lifting is down to capping

I think Options have some gorgeous colours, but the gel does shrink back more than Bio and Calgel. I had some problems in the early days when I was expecting it to behave the same way as Bio, but if you really cap the FE well, then it should be OK.

I do use it on toes sometimes with no Base and Gloss and its fine.

re white calgel, the ony time i got bubbling is when i thought i try and use one thicker coat of white instead of my normal 2

Guess that's me then, always done it in one...thin or thick the cpw always bubbled.

and as for the yellowing... i only use the comp white, i use clear just where my white will go, cure, very quick buff, white, then clear, i find doing it this way rather than clear all over first stops the yellowing, if i do get some yellow the blue polish (the name has completly skipped my mind !!!) clears it

Like Lilly, I have only had bubbling when I apply the white too thick. It never yellows right out of the lamp for me, however the clear does yellow if it's in the lamp longer than 30 seconds. That's why I prefer Bio to Calgel.

I am going to get some Options colours and layer it between my Bio clear to offer more colours at a more affordable price to me. Glad to hear the positive feedback.

I think I might be popping up to see you Cathie, I am very interested in the Akzents options, so I might come and have a looksie.

Does anyone know if Karen will be at Excel? I remember speaking to her last year and was ever so impressed with her. Very nice lady who was approachable and extremely informative about the products. I would like to buy some Akzents colours if they are at the show.

I don't know if she will be going but there wont be a Akzentz stand....apparently she would have to pay the costs herself...and its mega bucks.

You know your welocme any time ...I've only got the white and the clear to play with so far though!

Hi I use Calgel as a soak off gel in my salong and I use akzents as a buff off gel. I Like to work with Akzents and always use option as a base gel. But it have happend that I got emty of Calgel (I have to import it) så I had to use akzents option instead on my Calgel clients. Its wonderful to work with it and its look very nice....BUT it does not have the same bonding to the natural nail as Calgel, so the costomers came back with more lifting then they where use to, and second it does not soak off so easely (you have to buff it off). So yes akzent is a good buff off gel but option does not have the quality of Calgel as a soak off gel. And after I startet to use Calgel super clear there is no problem with yellowing in Calgel anymore, so even tho Calgel is much more expencive I use that as a soak off.

i think i,ll try the super clear gel

Interesting stuff, I'll see how my Akzentz options come back in regards to lifting....surely if prep is perfect there shouldn't be any lifting especially with gels as their isn't a ratio to deal with.
