hi i have always wanted to be a nail tech but other things in life come first now i am 45years old i feel i am to old to fulfill my dream any advice would be a help x

pfft. what a silly thing to say! start researching training providers!! ;) you get one shot at life so make the most of it! if you think about it... most people live well into their 80s these days so you've got 40+ years to invest in a fabulous nail career!! :D x

Absolutely not, you are never to old to follow your dreams. I am a late starter and at the age of 53 just did the CND Shellac Boot Camp. I graduated last weekend and now living the dream. So you go for it and enjoy dreaming that dream xxx

What makes you think your too old? Your never to old to learn something new. Go for it. In the nail and beauty industry you are constantly learning. Follow your dreams and good luck. :)

Thank- you for your kind words i am going to be a nail tech yee ha.

Aaaah you silly thing, go for it , I'm Glad I have done it, I'm no where near as good as peeps on here, but im still learning new things I love it glad I did it
GO FOR IT HUN x:hug::hug:

Age adds so much to your credibility as a nail tech. Most clients tend to walk all over the inexperienced young ones.

Age also generally means you are better placed financially and can afford the best training which helps you to get things right from the start. The ones who always start out underfunded seldom get either good training or good products.

If you know it is something you can do (and most good nail techs knew before they even started that nails was an art they could master) then go ahead and do it.

Hi,

I'm 43 and started training to be a nail tech last year and my ONE AND ONLY REGRET is not training with CND in the first place. At the time I didnt realise I could have trained with Liza Smith in Kent at weekends (I work in a school and cant have term time off). Anyway with the help and advice of Geeg I have now retrained with CND (originally did an NVQ2 with a local salon and whilst not terrible it just didnt give all the tricks of the trade that make fantastic nails) and it was the best thing I ever did. I did my second training yesterday with Liza and I can't say enough nice things about her. Her experience is unbelievable. Each time I go I learn something new and I'm really not being dramatic when I say I always come away with such a buzz and can't wait to do my next set of nails. I learned to sculpt yesterday and learned that my mix ratio was way too dry. Last night I did a set of colour blend sculpted french nails on my daughter and she said they were the best I ever done (even my husband said they were good lol miracle). So go for it but research who you train with very very carefully and dont make the mistake I did. All the very best be prepared to fall in love with nails xxxxxx
