Anybody can tell me of a good red color that stays good on prelightened hair? I know this is a long battle of ours but I was just curious what else was out there?

We use Koleston Perfect by Wella in the salon but it doesn't matter what brand it is. However, I know a lot of people on here are from outside the states and I'm sure there are products there I can't get here.

I have used high lift reds on my hair before but that only works good on virgin hair and face it, who has virgin hair anymore? :green:

I know it'll be orange eventually but what holds up?

Schwartzkopf hold pretty well. I find if I use a porosity spray, pre-pig with a semi, THEN target shade (sticking to the ones around a 6 base) I get a good result. Brighter reds, unfortunately, still remain a struggle to work as effectively.

I am just giving the Goldwell reds a whirl to see how they hold up.

A lot depends on the hair porosity, if you hair is stretchy I would use a product like Zotos/La Maur NRG to strengthen the hair and even out the porosity, a magnesium rinse before the toner will also help.
