Honestly, I have only hired one 'young' stylist in the last 3 years that has worked out well.....I find stylists of our age, ahem, or experience are much more grounded and level headed. No offense to the young ones, but many dont have work ethics worth a hill of beans, and are more concerned with time off than on the floor.
Put your best foot forward, show FULL commitment, be passionate about what you do, and dont give upm there is an owner just waiting for the likes of you to show up.:green:

I think if you want to go mobile, go mobile. BUT treat it like a business. Don't allow your "friends" to treat you badly. If you want this to work, and earn money from it, set a price list, get some flyers printed, promote your business, and act like a professional so that your friends don't take advantage of you.

Start networking and promoting your business so that you don't have to rely on these so-called friends. Check out Lynne Baker's thread on this subject for more ideas.

If you do decide to take on these people as a client, tell them the cost of the appointment when they book, and say you will expect the money at the end of the appointment.

Your not too old to be an apprentice training providers can get funding for your age group, but u need to be willing to take the apprentice wage ie. £2.50 minimun per hour for the 1 year if your aged 19 or over.

Hope that helps
