Hi there,
I've used this exact Majicontrast colour on Indian hair. She has very thick black hairs. I only put in a few slices so I used 30VOL / 9%. Turned out great. However, if your hair is already dyed then it will be much more porous and take to the red dye more intensley. You obviously wouldn't go over the whole lot with such a high developer. Either a very low number like 10VOL/3 % or a tone on tone semi colourant. If in doubt go and see a professional.
My friends daughter of 17 yrs has just done her whole head with a red home box salon (those great teenage experiments!) and it's fading already to a copper so make sure you use the right products!
Hope this helps !
We do not advise non professionals! Forum rules! I didn't train for years and years for joe public to attempt to colour their hair with professional products after receiving incorrect information!

Sorry? The instructions inside the Majicontrast box are written in plain laymans English. Or is that just for the professionals ? There are several options for colour -in tech, maintaining colour etc. Each to their own - like I said - If in doubt seek professional advice but if you can read plain English and you've already dyed your hair yourself without fail then you may as well ! It is not rocket science I'm afraid!!
Wouldn't worry about it Bluerinse. L'oreal don't make or recommend a 3% developer (as advised in the post above yours) and anything less than that with Maji.Constrast would be like mixing it with cat pee.
It's strange really. I see many posts on this forum from people who've discovered Sallys or eBay and bought themselves a tube of something they know very little about yet feel it makes them a "hair professional".
I wonder, if I buy a flute does it suddenly make me a musician, or just a bloke with a flute?
thanks for the tips!and for whoever said we dont train for years to advise the public, im studying hairdressing at the minute and was just looking some help as i only know the schwarzkopf mix ratio? i didnt know that asking for help was 'against forun rules'
Majicontrast is red bleach, its not a toner, brightener or semi colour. Can I suggest that as you are training, you ask your tutor to explain the difference to you before you end up coral pink with ruined hair.
If I have to type out ONE more explanation about magicontrast I shall explode!!!!
It is NOT just a red hair dye.
So is this loreals version of magma?? Never used it myself x
It's a highlift red very much like sored in matrix, but can be used in with other colours unlike magma which is only interminable with itself x

It can be mixed with other magi contrast, not with majirel, majirouge or majimode. It should be used off scalp only for partial colouring and should not be used on scalp.
For high lift red global applications use majimode, for non high lift reds use majirouge.
I have intermixed majirouge with majirel with no ill effects before.
