I have used Wella Koleston for 21 years now...and some of you may see from another thread that the reds arent quite the same....so today took myself down to Sallys to look at other makes...
Have seen quite a few of you recommend Magicontrast so thought id give the magenta red a go... unfortunately Sallys had sold out of all magicontrast  so had a quick flick thru colour charts available and came across Rusk...must say its not one that im familiar with but saw the 6.66 red and thought id try that using my friend as a willing guinea pig :green:
Was quite impressed with the result....does anyone else use Rusk?
Just to add i'm happy with all other Koleston colours just not the reds !!

hiya a guy i work wiv uses rusk and koleston hes says they r really good and they always seem to come out nice,i love majirouge for reds ( the guy i work wiv has over 20yrs exp and has been using rusk for a while now) hope this helps

I've used them in a salon before and personally I found them wishy washy (very technical term lol), they didn't cover greys very well and found them a little flat.
Personally I don't think they come any were close to Majirel and majirouge.

I'm pretty sure they are one of Sally's own brand colours.

But its personal preference, if you've like the red, its always worth trying a couple of other shdes out.

Hi, I mainly use loreal(majirel, majirouge, majiblonde ) etc, sometimes use matrix, or koleston but my friend who worked in sallys pursuaded me to try rusk, and i loved it!

Im going in tomorrow to place a bulk order,i liked it that much.

Ive tried around 6 different colours, and have been pleased every time, the shade chart is lovely, very true to the result and easy to use.

Plus I love the fact that 1 tube could be a tint,or a permanent, ive never known of any other brand doing this. You get 100ml per tube, and ratio is 1:1 1/2. So all round good value.

My school uses rusk but the processing time is 45 minutes... but personally if I were you I would try and find an Armstrong mccalls they sell a lot of different brands that I prefer... including Paul Mitchell

I use rusk, it's great cos depending what rusk developer you use you can chose if you want the same tube as permanent or semi.

I've just tried rusk in salon, tried it & gave it a good chance to win us all over.. got to say your heart is in your mouth half the time, it can be quite unpredictable.. i swear by milkshake colour from wizzdom hair - honestly, the colour is brilliant.. coverage is spot on and we love them.. only thought to change to try to save money but i am definitely going to go about it in other ways now! im not messing around with colour.. im not saying its the worst colour ever by any means, some colours are lovely and they are nice and shiny and the fact you can use the same tubes and mix with either demi lotion or permanant vols is a plus - but as i say.. not for us :-/ hope that helps :) xx

Thanks for all the replies..... I will still be using Koleston for all other colours...im just trying to find a real vibrant red (something Koleston doesnt seem to have anymore) Tried Rusk yesterday which came out very nice but i'd still like to try the magicontrast that quite a few of you have recommended...
