Are some gelish colours longer lasting than others? I buy all my colours from Sally' Salon services and some are thicker than others. I find some more watery and it tends to be those that don't last as long. I understand you shouldn't shake them, has anyone any experience of this?

Yes, the colours are very hit and miss. If they are thin and watery then I’ll use a thinker base colour underneath which seems to work nicely but I haven’t noticed any difference in the length of time they are lasting

Are you stirring them before use? Sometimes the pigments can settle and they just need a gentle stir before applying. x

Thanks I will try stirring them, I haven' tried thicker base as I have always been told coats need to be thin especially foundation? Does it really work if its thicker? I have also experienced a new colour in that was watery chipped and pealed off after a week. If its "pealing" is that to do with application or perhaps because I didn't stir the bottle? Thanks

What lamp are you using?

Keep your coats thin. If they are too thick the product won’t cure correctly.

Chipping or peeling can be application or the client not following aftercare so don’t assume it’s always you x

I think the above poster meant try using a similar colour that has better coverage under a thinner colour not thicker coats. x

I also find this with gelish, i didn't think of using similar colour underneath first i will try that next time as some thin polish's take 4 or 5 coats to get full coverage, although the colour's in the new bottles i haven't had any problems with so far but i haven't tried them all.
