Argan oil making my scalp flaky!!

Hi hair geeks I've just popped over from beauty, I have been using argan oil on and off for about a year now and I've found that when i use it my hair feels amazing but my scalp goes flaky, can anyone tell me why this is happening and maybe suggest an alternative?

Hi,

Do you put the oil on your scalp? Could you be using more than they recommend? Might be worth doing the occasional detox shampoo to get rid of any build up. I use the Moroccan Oil range which I love, and they do a Moroccan Oil light, that may be worth considering. They recommend one pump for short/med and two for long/very wild hair. x

i only put it through the lengths of my hair, never on the scalp, unless im being abit messy and getting it on my scalp without realising? i saw the light moroccan oil the other day and thought this might be good so ill give that a try. can i also ask what shampoo you would recommend for a detox x

I like matrix alternate action clarifying shampoo, if you need to you can leave it for 5 min for extra detox, just do not over use, once a month is normally enough. Is it possible that the scalp issue is not related to oil - have you changed shampoo, conditioner, or styling products recently?

its only when i use the oil. So annoying because it makes the rest of my hair so nice but with dark hair having a flaky scalp is definitely a no-no lol x

Moroccan Oil also do an oil especially for dry scalps. We retail it in the spa.

I personally use the Moroccan oil light and hair spray and I don't have any problems and the smell is devine.

Thanks for the info Jacqueline, I will be looking into the Scalp treatments, sound promising, I get my Moroccan Oil from Aston & Fincher, not sure they do all the range, I think I will be talking to my rep. x
