Hi, this is my first time posting here so Hello to everyone! I am looking for some suggestions regarding the toning of my bleached hair.

I bleached my regrowth and then used Koleston 10/1 to tone the yellow/slightly orange. The ash tone I beleive was too deep for my needs and has left me with an odd shade of dull grey/khaki which is not terribly strong but enough to make me feel unhappy with it.

The rest of my hair is a lovely creamy blonde, not cool, more of a very pale beige blonde.

Am I right in thinking I would need to add a toner with a touch of gold in it to counteract the ash effect?

Also, There seem to be quite a few ranges in the Koleston line. Are any better for toning than others?

Thank you.

Hi are you a hairdresser ? We cannot give colour tips to non pro hairdressers, your best to go to a salon & get it fixed there.

Hi, no Im not which is why I posted in this section. I was only hoping someone could say if going with something with gold was the correct way to counteract ash so I didnt think that too specific for someone not to be able to answer. I dont mean to sound rude but Im just not sure what this section is for if you can not answer questions about hair? Is it more for cuts than colours?

ok, so that's it? No one else can confirm a gold tone?

Ideally u need a hairdresser to look at it and determine what toner you'd need, we can't just say oh yea it's gold or ash or whatever because really this is colour correction and if not done by a proffesional usually results in khaki hair or other unwanted tones, I'd recomend u pop to a local salon and ask them to do it, if it is literally just a toner u need you prob won't have to pay much, I really wouldn't do it yourself because if you tone areas which are different colours they'll go different colours, so you'll loose the bits u like a stylist can colour just the bits that need it.

Hi no the consumer section is for general advice like if a certain style would suit or help with product use( not chemicals like colour) shampoo & conditioner recommendations & things like that. Hair pros are not allowed to discuss colour formulas & things with non hair pros. Sorry but your best bet is to go to a salon. Also the consumer forum is for general advice from all sections of the site.
