Hi, I had to stop hairdressing about 6 years ago because of severe dermatitis on my hands (from the job, it only cleared up when I stopped) anyway my hands are fine now and I’m thinking I would love to start hairdressing again but I don’t know if it would just happen again has anyone been through similar?
I would like to do a refresher course because It’s been so long too, any recommendations for this? But I don’t want to spend money on corses and building a kit up if it’s gonna make my hands flare up bad again

I have a good friend who came back to hairdressing as a receptionist and she was roped into shampooing sometimes and her hands went back to the same, the condition deteriorated in a matter of weeks.

Ufhhhh that’s not good

When I started I had the same issues, what got me through was easy..... a box of nitrile gloves. Then over time gradually expose yourself to products slowly, avoid shampoos with surfaces in them and always thoroughly dry your hands. Over 40 years on and still at it.
Go for it :)
