ive just completed my acrylic nails course with nsi and im going to be doing the nail drill/ efile course in november. one of the things we are going to be doing is a backfill with the drill and what i would like to know is can you do a backfill on nails that have a plastic tip or do they have to be sculptered nails its so i know what sort of nails i need to put on my hand model prior to the course starting. i checked my nsi manual but doesnt state if sculptered or plastic tips or both. we didnt cover backfills at the acrylic course only infills. im sure the teacher did mention but cant remember exactly what she said

It works with either. A backfill/infill is simply applying new product to the growth area and then reducing the length of the existing enhancement.

thanks for answering so quick. can i ask when doing a backfill/ rebalance on a plastic tip are you in danger of filing the tip and mucking it up when you go to trench out the smile line. just want to cover all my bases

That will be a skill you'll be taught on your course so you'll avoid any damage.
