Balayage or not?

Hi, I'm dropping in from the nail side to ask you lovely hair geeks a question
I recently asked my stylist if she could do balayage on my hair as I think it looks so much more natural than my foils, but she said the technique can't be used on my hair as it is already coloured and hilighted, is this the case ?
I'm due for my roots again next week and not sure whether to look for somewhere else to go instead I will attach a pic but please mind the fuzz I've just got caught in a downpour x

Of course you can! It's a lovley base to start from, because of the highlights it'll show some lovley tones through the area coloured darker too, it is a fiddly job so maybe that why they said no lol

Ah thanks so much for that , I wasn't convinced when she said it , but I don't know about hair lol, I look at all the lovely after shots on here and just think it would look a bit more natural, thanks for that x
