I hate the title 'Beautician' I have to say, it just doesn't sound as professional as Beauty Therapist. I did read on a website, I think it was the HABIA one or something official like that, that the definition of a Beauty Therapist was a Beautician with a Level 3 qualification, as opposed to just a Level 2. But that was their personal definition I think. Like other people have said, Beautician is just too old fashioned and doesn't convey the amount of knowledge and skills we learn these days.

I prefer beauty therapist, beautician to me, makes me feel under qualfied.

I'm always Massage Therapist ... really hate 'masseur'. So for me it would be Beauty Therapist.

I prefere Beauty Therapist.
I dont know why but I always assumed a beautican was level 2 and a higher education up to level 3 was a Beauty Therapist.
"beautican" to me sounds like they just pretty people like make up, and manicure.
However a "Beauty Therapist" offers treatments and therapys.

When I Quallified in 1998 the qualification was Vocational awards International Level 3

I will say though that I don't think that the college courses are not as intensive as they used to be I cant seem to find anyone qualified enough to work for me

I agree. A Beauty Therapist gives an air of status..sayign we are therapists which offer beauty advice and services, which we do.
A beautician tends to create the image of a make up applier only.
