A bit of advice really, I am not getting on with Wella I am looking at changing brand, I am thinking of using NXT what are peoples opinions on this brand? A lady I know swears by it? What colour brand for blondes and ash browns would people recommend?

Thank you :)

What is it that you don't like about wella?

I think Wella is too warm, I do a lot of blondes and brunettes, and i find wella aren't ashy enough for me. I haven't been hairdressing long so maybe it will come more with experience.

I usually find that ash is hard to achieve with just colour, no matter the colour line. You could try Schwarzkopf?

I love Schwarzkopf xx

I think it might just be an training/experience issue rather than the fault of the product.

Have you done any specific colour courses with Wella? Some wholesalers run short half day courses that aren’t expensive and you get to speak to experienced trainers and swap ideas with fellow participants.

Personally, I’m not keen on NXT as it’s a cheaper brand and I think the quality just isn’t as good across the range. However, I’m not salon based and do like to use a few different brands depending on what’s required. For instance, I use illumina for a few of my blondes. I originally trained with Goldwell and still use them occasionally. L’Oréal have some lovely shades. I also really like Schwarzkopf Blondme bleach.

Blonde me is a great bleach for a good clean high lift, I’ve recently discovered Lisaplex bleach It’s about £xxx works with any generic peroxide and gives the same result as blonde me it’s great
I’ve found some Wella blondes aren’t as Ashley as they should be but using the loo oh colour PO one with the 7.5% lift as a toner or on dry as a colour breaches the gap and is amazing wet and dry
I have a salon and we lose about five different brands depending on the clients hair & natural underlying tones as not everybody’s hair reacts the same with different colours or lifts everybody’s hair history is different and a lot of clients tell Fibs lol

[no trade prices please, thanks]

Another Schwarzkopf fan here!

I worked with wella for many years , but I have also used goldwell L’Oréal . And matrix , I tended to pick the things I liked best from all brands when I went mobile ( mostly wella . As I was more experienced in that ) , however I am predominantly ID now . I love it , the styling products are also good
