We are thinking of offering bday offers- 30% off any treatment. I wanted to go a bit more on the discount- but staff think I'm being too generous. I'd also like it to cover all treatments (we do waxing to botox to rejuvenation). We will be having a automated reminder system.

Any thoughts? What do you do at your places?

Sounds very high to me. I wouldn't go more than 20% tops.

You could always do a £5 off when you spend over £30, as an example. You can add retail into it if you wish also. I've always been one for travel size products usually squeezing the reps for anything I can get my hands on. I then make up little gift bags with all these samples perfect for birthdays and doesn't cost a penny. It may sound a bit silly but it works a treat. I also place orders when there are deals on and keep the buy one get one free to add to the pot, just to keep my loyal clients coming back. They think it's fab and it costs next to nothing.

I send out birthday texts for 25% off one treatment. They are valid for 3 weeks.
I also send them out on a Sunday for all the birthdays the previous week, because most people come in on their birthdays anyway . I know it's a bit sneaky but it's still a nice gesture and gets them coming back for something they wouldn't have booked in for, instead of giving them discount on an appointment they were going to make anyway :)

I send a voucher for 20% off, valid for 3 months after the date of their birthday.

I send it to arrive on their actual birthday.

I sound a bit tight but I don't give them anything! I have too many clients on the books to keep track of birthdays, some have only been once and others come every week or two, but to differentiate between 'regular' clients and non-regular clients would be impossible so can't even just send the regulars something! x

I send them an email with a £5 off a £25 appointment, valid for the month of their birthday only.

I'm mobile, and usually find they "treat themselves" to an extra treatment so I don't really loose out ☺

I do it all via the computer. I can choose clients who have had more than x amount of visits with a Birthday between x dates. I tend to do a text to all clients offering £5 off any one treatment taken in the birthday month. We have a great response.

i don't do any birthday offers but if and when they do come in i give them a sparitual samples pack and offer a little cupcake with their tea or coffee to celebrate birthday! It's just a nice little something something that i know they'll come back anyways.

I prefer not to do the birthday offers as in my experience it can attract the bargain hunters and switching and changing appointments to later dates, i had one client change till 6 months later! It was such a hassle to accommodate her and she wanted more off from the original treatments! It just concluded in my mind to not offer specific individual treatments but as a whole collective, for instance during that month only. That way everyone benefits.

For me having a discounted treatment wouldn't make it sweeter but to make someone feel special and cherished on their birthday is something i can do! ;-) xoxo

Wow, thanks for all that. Its a lot of food for thought!

I'm very new and at the moment mainly seeing bargain hunters that I hope to convert no doubt, but in central london location, i'm seeing a trend of places charging a little more so that they can survive on Wahanda/etc deals.

I have a box of treats they can choose from which has mini scentsations, mini solar oils, chocolates etc. I only started it a few months ago and it's very popular.
