just wondered what bleach is best to use on the scalp, i use indola blue which i love but now they have changed it to rapid bleach it cant be used on the scalp, i asked the wholesaler to send me some and they sent me wella blondor lightening cream, which ive never used before, it was a horrible grainy consistancy and kept drying out, any suggestions please

If im doing a full head bleach then i use loreal platinium paste its really gentle on the scalp and lifts really clean! Its alot more expensive than normal bleach and peroxide but its definitely worth it for the results and i only use it for full heads so it balances out in the end!

I use the same, lovely bleach, lifts really well and as said above, gentle on the scalp.

Well my rep came in last week as i asked the same exact question and he recommended a bleach by Matrix called vlight and i LOVE IT, contains pathenol so it is soothing and i did a full head bleach yesterday and the lift was amazing but also very conditioning the hair was beautiful and very soft.

Hi Kimi1101

Does that proclere blue frosting have the consistency of an oily gel.
I might give that a go sometime.

Hi Lamaur man,

The blue frosting comes as a gel and sachets of powder.

The way I was taught was to do 3 packets of powder, up to the number 2 on your measuring jug of peroxide, and top up to the number 3 of the gel. However, one day I look at manufacturers instructions (wonderful things they are) and it says to use a set amount of peroxide, a set amount of gel, and then use 1-4 sachets depending on the lift you want. Both work well.

Yes its a far less....grainy powdery feel. it does still dry up to an extent but I just really find it nice and far easier to apply. Its worth a try, I think you can get single application packs in Sally, but to buy the normal size box its not cheap.

But....its a great product. xx

Yeh I will give it a go sometime.
I used to use something similar in the 80s when training.
Lamaur 30 minute bleach. A blue gel liquid in a glass bottle with packets of bleach boosters and peroxide. Just left it on for 30 minutes and the results were amazing. Really clean pure blond. Just like Marylin Monroe. :):)

Thanks again.
xx

Yeh what you are describing sounds very similar.

But the bottles are now plastic :D

Great thanks everyone xxx

We use Tigi TrueLight very good for scalp applications.

Changing to wella, and they have a trio of bleaches, but I am unfamiliar with the cream scalp bleach. Has anyone used it, and how well does it lift?

I was using Tigi truelight on the scalp but now have discovered Fudge speed Creme. I have a client who likes it white and is a base 4/5 and you can use it with 9% on the scalp and get a clean colour.
I still use Tigi in foils, though. :)

What would you suggest, to try the Proclere bleach or the Tigi one?

I know the Tigi peroxide contains Aloe Vera and also Nettle extracts so help with the overall feel, we've had people who normally can't have any bleach on their head and they haven't even had a tingle with the Tigi Truelight, we've never used the Fudge speed creme though.
