bleach or high lift tint

I have short pixie hairstyle and my natural colour is dark blonde.
I would love to go ash light blonde with no warmth in it. I dont want to be white.
I have had an high lift tint on my hair before but it was far to orange/warm for me. I did have it applied over bleached highlights, so thinking this could cause it to go orange??????
I am going back to my natural colour all over and wondered if i could get a away with a high lift tint or I would need it bleached?
i dont want my hair white, but a natural ash blonde like michelle williams or kerry katona.

I would definately go with a decolorizer and toner if your going lighter. i only use hilift color if i am working with virgin hair, or when retouching a naturally level 7 or 8 blonde. hilifts don't work as well on level 6 and under (or atleast as i've found) and can result in being to warm.
