Hi everyone, I have been using vario blonde bleach for years, recently they have changed the formula, and I have been having problems. The new bleach is a finer powder and when I mix it up, with in say 15 mins the mixture is so watery im having to add a bit more powder just to thicken it . Vario blonde never did this before, the old formula was fine, I am measuring out the bleach to the instructions. Please can someone tell me why this is happening? If I cant change it I am going to change bleach brands, but dont know what brand to go for. If anyone could help me with that aswell that would be great. I want a gentle bleach, like the old vario blonde  why do they have to change things. x

do you think you have a dodgy batch ? have you phoned the helpline and asked for their input ? or maybe your rep ?
i havent ever used it so i cant really give you any advice other than that sorry xxx

yeah ill ring the help line I think, going to use another brand its rediculouse thanks for advice x

Boo that sucks, they havent changed ours over yet, so I'm not looking forward to this. However I like Lanza bleach as an alternative

Ok I'd defo get rid of this batch. There's a few reasons why this is happening one being there's been a unbalance in the polymerization reactions and this causes your bleach to go very watery after 20 minutes and this is due to a rise in the crystals within the chemical being in cold then hot environments. The second reason being there could rinsing solutions still on your tint brush and third manufacture problem. Hope this helps once you get over the science jargon.

Thanks for the replys, yeh with me going from cold to hot I could see how that would happen with me being mobile, but it never happened with the old bleach, I have discarded the bleach in question now. I have been using some indola stuff insted, it smells identical funnily enough but the consistency is fine with it so I will put it down to a dodgy batch! Maby that awful cold weather we had had something to do with it I will keep that in mind for future reference x

Developer is supposed to be fairly standard, but I find certain bleaches do not mix will with certain peroxides. Some will go watery, or chunky and not mix well etc. Before you bin it, try using a different peroxide with it, just to see.

Hi i picked up a tin of white vario the other day instead of the blue and it was very watery i mixed it 1:2 as i always do with the blue it was one of the new tubs

Hi, I have already binned it! Otherwise I could have tried a different peroxide, I know what people mean about different brands of peroxide too, the salons direct own brand is like water and smells so potant too. I never use it but braught one once as a trial and didnt like it! x:hug:
