Just a question really.

Ive been using Brisa for a few months now and love it, although Im getting a bit of lifting even after good prep with cuticle remover, buy just wondered if anyone has done any sculpting but instead of doing the pink first done it as you would do l & P with the white smile line first. Ive not tried it but im sure I would feel better with the white in place with a big smile and then do the pinks.

On the video it shows you to do the pink wipe the smile line and then the whites. Just wondered not tried it as yet.

Dare to try something new!! It works and the benefit of this method is a fantastic 'sharp crisp' smile line. There is nothing wrong with sticking to your method, but doing the pink first is so easy! I'm all for easy.

I learned to do it the 'other' way and now I always use the new method because of the ease and the result.

Mind you I am always up for learning new techniques.

Thanks.

Ill try both ways.

Any thoughts on the lifting problems. Im inclined to think that they are going too long before in-fills it seems to be ex acrylic customers so maybe they have got to take a little more care with them. Can not really understand it because mine are very strong and Im a picker.

Just had someone ring saying thay have lost 6 its over 3 weeks since I saw her for a full set.

I have to say that lifting is not a problem for me but I do make sure to scrub the bonder layer onto the prepared nail (as opposed to just applying it like nail polish).
Any client who has lost??? broken 6 nails is either totally not used to them or a biter or they were just way too long in the first place. And 3 over weeks is too long as we all know. No freebies for this lady ... be firm. As you only just found out, then it only just happened ... this should teach her to return in a timely fashion from now on.

Thanks.

I think she went 3-4 weeks with her acrylics which were quite thick.

Ill try to educate her

THAT paints a pretty picture .... not! They must have looked horrendous which probably points to this woman not knowing a good looking nail from a bad one!

I know a woman here in Spain who buys liquid and powder (not from me) is completely untrained and who does only her own nails. They are the most god awful looking things you have ever seen and mega long/wide/ thick/ shapeless/no shine/lumpy and she paints them green ..... ugh!! She thinks they are the cat's pajamas!! She looks at mine, and I don't think she is aware of the difference (and trust me there is a difference :p ). Some people just have got no idea at all.

hi

i'm setting of on my own as a mobile nail technician in scarborough, do you know which is the best recognised insurance to get?

Lillys

Can not remember the name as I have salon insurance.

But when you train with Creative they give you a form to fill in for your insurance its quite cheap.

Perhaps someone else could help with the name of the company.

Good luck in your new venture. If you need any help just let me know.

Thanks, i'm on a course with creative on sunday so i will check it out there. x

Hi

i have had Brisa on my own nails for about 4-6 weeks now. My nails grow like mad so i have filled them 3 times already  the only time i have had any lifting is when they were left a little too thick around the sides and cuticles.

I also find that if i build the stress area up and dont leave them so flat they dont break at all. I am quite heavy on my nails and at the show this weekend the lady on the cnd stand rebalanced one of my nails and although it looked nice it started to crack straight across the smile line. :Scared:

However it has been on for 6 weeks and until then it hadn't budged! I do think its because i know i am hard on my nails and i build my stress area up well. The nail she has done for me is quite flat. (although it looks beautiful and the girl was soooo nice ) compared to the other ones.

I am used to using LCN sculpture which you build up. However it doesn't compare to brisa at all brisa is so lovely and i picked up some really good tips of the cnd lady. The clarity of Birsa absolutly amazed me! As a gel user of many years i think its the nicest looking gel i have ever seen.

Hi Tracy

Thanks for that I too love Brisa and also as you know Bio Sculpture.

I know what you mean about the stress area and I will watch out for the gel being too thick at the cuticle, but I dont think it is. I suppose that the nails look so great when you have built them up I dont like to file and buff.

Its just a case of getting used to the gel, dont have this problem on my own but then again I can top them up at any time.

Are you doing L & P or Brisa?

Im sure you will like Carmen she is great really good and helpfull with any problems.

You will love the course

You`ve gone off topic here a bit lilly but I found the best insurance to have is Professional Beauty Direct. If you do a search on insurance I`m sure you`ll find loads of advice on the subject, if not, then ask again and I`m sure you`ll get some answers
