Hi all! I’m looking for ideas on the best way to achieve this look starting with dyed red hair. Darker on the top half and more faded on the bottom! Wondering how people would best do it? Putting the dark on first then lightening the ends then toning. Or in two processes lightening ends then root stretch? (I’ve already told the client it may not be grey on the ends in one session) Thanks in advance!

I’m a nail tech but I have this hair a lot more grey though than brown but I noticed no replies so wanted to help and my hair dresser (I was black Previously) she put root colour on which is a base 4 free handed my bleached midlength with both bleach and root colour to get a natural blend went through some funky colours to get here but now I just have full head highlights every couple of months to keep my root colour high do hope this helps

I would do a full head colour remover. Possibly do this twice to completely remove the red. Then I'd do a full head of sliced highlights of bleach and 3%, balayage M. L. E that are left out with bleach and 6%or 9% if you think you need that extra lift. Then I'd do a root smudge with colour touch 4.71 +1.9% and then blend it in to colour touch 7/89+9/16 +6/1 with 1.9% on M. L. E and use olaplex if possible.
