Hi, I've been playing with chrome powder & the holo powder but after seeing some posts the Magpie glitters look amazing. So my question is do you burnish on no wipe top coat? Or do you need a sticky top coat? Thanks in advance

You burnish into the cured colour coat and then top coat twice to ensure all the glitter is sealed and you get a nice smooth finish. You need the tacky coat for the glitter to stick to, it wouldn't stick to a non wipe top coat like the chrome powders do. If you look on YouTube there are loads of useful videos especially by Sarah R and Nona Philipa. You can also sprinkle the glitter into uncured gel polish but it's unknown if this stops the gel curing properly.

You might want to clarify your terminology:-

Burnishing is done to/with glitter, it makes a smoother finish to glitter, almost like foil, rather than super sparkly and is done with a brush.

Chrome & Holo pigments (super fine dusts) need to be rubbed in usually with an eyeshadow applicator so you can get a proper rubbing pressure on to create the chrome effect. You won't get chrome effect with a brush.

Glitters need a sticky surface to adhere too (the sticky residue of either colour or top coat)
Chrome/Holo pigments need a no-wipe/dry wiped - non sticky surface to rub into.

Applying a chrome/holo to a sticky surface with make the pigment behave like glitter and it will look powdery and glittery. You need the slippery surface to create the chrome effect
