Calgel and gel polish price difference

Hi I wondered if I should charge the same price for Calgel overlay compared to a Gel polish eg. Cuccio. I am doing my price list at the moment and feel that Calgel should be priced higher as it is a lot more expensive but wonder if future customers expect to pay a gel polish price which would be cheaper. To most customers it would be the same type of treatment. Or would I be better of just offering the colour in one product only eg Cuccio, where I would get more treatments from one bottle for my money and only use Calgel for extensions and overlay in the clear for strength. Any thoughts from others who may offer both treatments. thanks in advance.

Hi thanks for getting back, do you have many colours in both systems, I have a reasonable amount in cuccio to start with but none in Calgel so before I start ordering was trying to find out if I need both systems for the colours or not. Do you find many have Calgel? if so any suggestions on popular colours.?

I find gel polish more popular, I use the clear IZ gel from Calgel Izabelle Hammond, find it better than the clear Calgel, 1 would purchase 6 colours of Calgel to start, a light pink, dark pink, red, coral, a blue & purple, a great product for heavy handed clients.

Has anyone tried clear calgel sculpts with a gel polish over the top? I currently have more colours in my OPI gelcolour range and plan on doing a little experiment but wondered if anyone else had tried it yet?

Thanks will order just a few colours so I have something to offer, can I ask if using Calgel either tips or overlays then a cuccio colour over the top, do you remove the sticky residue from the calgel? just not sure as to what point I would add the colour I guess I would miss out the prep, fuse and base coats??? I have not tried this yet.

I have used the IZ gel but find it harder to remove, was going to order their normal clear Calgel, I do panic a bit on the length of time for removal. Any suggestions on removing the IZ gel, I have spent ages removing mine in the past and they were not that thick either.

Hi Jersey Jock, thank you for replying so quick, I remembered something about not needing the base coats but wasnt t sure about the sticky layer. How many colours in Calgel do you think I may need to build up to? I was going to order a few to start with but didnt know if I was better of buying more gel polish colours instead as I could invest in some minis which would give more colour options and go little further. Its costing a small fortune setting up so trying to cut the cost down until I build up some clients as only just starting to advertise.

Just explain to your ladies that soak off time is longer but their nails will last, if you explain to clients & their nails are lasting they are happy to sit.....is CALGEL popular in your area? It's really up to you to sell the product the best way you can, start small think big.
