Just wanted to ask all beauty artists out there what they would recommend to cover scars - ie camouflage make up and whether it can be used on scars that are just over 6 months old.

I have a lot of scars on my legs due to an accident with acid in December and had to have a skin graft operation. The scars are slowly reducing in colour but have not reduced to my skin colour and was wondering whether there are any good products out there that might be beneficial to use

Hi Nimsim! Your scars are still 'young' so if you can, concentrate on helping them heal as best you can, have you had a doctor advise you on what is best?

Anyway :) on a makeup front, there is a brand called Dermacolor which manufacture makeup specifically for scars. However if you weren't into the cream-based camouflage makeup you could always try mineral makeup (& IMO, your best bet), there are a few brands out there such as Bare Minerals, YoungBlood, Lily Lolo etc. They are powders made entirely from minerals & are very kind to your skin whilst providing the coverage that you need, they are easy to apply too, just dust on with a brush according to the coverage level that you require.

HTH :)

If you want to fade the scars you should give Heal Gel a go, it has worked wonders for me. Dermablend is great for scar covering though.
