Hi

I have quite fine, straight hair, silky in good condition. I have been thinking about getting a braidless weave extension (I currently have micro rings and would just LOVE to be able to put my hair up!)
I went to see someone today about it, but she said it can be a little bulky where the wefts are, and with any extensions you would need some 'skill' (I can't remember the exact word she used) in hiding the extensions when up high. She said that she tied a headscarf round her head as a headband to hide the wefts.

From what I have researched on the old tinterweb....I was under the impression that braidless weaves were very flat and not very dectectable....

Can any experts on this type of weave help me out and give me a general idea if the research I have read is correct, or if this lady I went to see is correct?

Thanks in advance!

Nano Rings? Smaller than micro rings and not very detectable & very little tension on the hair. Versatile method so can be worn in a Pony tail or worn down an curly or straight

I have a micro weft sew in and can wear my hair up without telling . I have fine hair too x

I also install them and lots of my clients wear their hair up too :)

I would probably say the same thing, a braidless weave gives amazing volume in thin hair, it is flat and discrete yet bulky at the same time(!). Its easy enough to pull it into a low or mid pony without being visible, but a sleek top knot on thin hair could well be impossible.

I struggled putting mine up high as the front links loosen when ponied, i found a baggy topknot with a wrap the best idea, dont get me wrong i much prefer a braidless weave to singles but not every method fits all expectations :)

id suggest looking at mini tapes, not the 4cm strips but the 1cm pieces at least at the sides, these are flat and ideal for hairups, theyve been the wedding hair secret for a while and getting more popular :)

Without sounding rude, why can you not wear your hair up with the micro rings , Is it because they are badly applied ? I have worn extensions for years , and i can wear my hair up no problems at all. I would maybe find a different hairdresser who specializes in hair extensions. When applied correctly, you should never see any bonds etc .

Whos talking about micro rings libbylou?

But for the record as a 100g full head ive no chance of hiding even a single micro ring, hair down let alone up as fine haired ladies will agree its like water, it will go around and under the ring.

Not every method is suitable for all, not every girl with fine hair truely has fine hair, though a good hairdresser should offer the right choice.

The poster states she currently has micro rings, but cant tie her hair up. With so many people walking around with badly applied extensions these days, i just suggested, that maybe, they are poorly fitted. Hair extensions when fitted correctly should not be detectable. A good hairdresser should always advise on what system is best for your hair. To me if you can not tie your hair up, without seeing them, then they are badly applied.

Sorry libby, i missed that bit x
