I have a chin length bob. I love it but am going out somewhere dressy and would love to have an up-do again, haven't had long hair for a couple of years.

I can get the sides up but it's only an inch or so long at the nape. There's no way round it that I can think of but just thought I'd ask the pros! I would conside a hairpiece or similar but wouldn't know what to buy or what to do with it!

Thanks x

If you curl it then gradually pin it back in sections but leave a curly back effect ( if that makes any sense) should look classy. gotta hide the grips though, and tons of hairspray.:)

Danni Minogue rocked a new style with her short bob every week on xfactor last year. google some pics to inspire you.

Maybe buy a clip in hair piece or bun and have a play around :green:

An upside down french plait (depending on your exact hair length). Start at the nape and work your way up to the top of your head (It requires you head upside down!) At the top, just tidy up any excess hair/add accessories.

Upside down French plaits are fab! Good idea!

Agree with Persianista,Danni Minougue has carried off some fab up do's with her short bob :)
Try setting it on large rollers and there should be a number of things you can do with it,A low messy chignon at the nape would look good,I've put up many a short do :)

I agrees with penners. I do alot of bridal up -dos with brides with bobs not sure what to do. This is the only time i curl with straightners to make sure i get the curl from the root. I pin sections towards the nape of the neck as i go and it will create a low curly bun. you could always get a pretty vintage looking booch clip and put it on side of the curls.Every one is surprised at how much hair it looks like they have with this style. Another idea if you wanted something more simple is to just do a french plait as a head band( either with fringe or leaving the front section out.
Good luck im sure u will look great whatever u do!

Wow thanks so much for all the ideas! :)

I think its too short at the back for the upside down french plait as bits are pinging out all over the place lol

But am going to try the others. . . . thanks
