Hello, I'm getting fed up of having to wait such a long time for Shellac to cure in my UV lamp!

I do have a 36watt LED lamp witch is the same wattage as the new CND LED lamp so will Shellac cure in my lamp?

Or do I really have to fork out for the new CND LED lamp?

No, at best it will lead to service breakdown & at worst your clients will develop acrylic allergies so you won't be able to service them in the future. If they sue you your insurance company won't want to know if it's not a proper CND lamp & you'll have to find another way to fund the £300 an hour barrister.

You need the CND lamp. It's much cheaper in the long run.

Dry doesn't equal cured, it can be dry at 60% but still highly allergenic.

Thank you for your reply
Changing brands is not an easy/ cheap procedure then!
:-(

Nope, it's why I'm sticking with shellac. Cba to buy new lamps & prep products.

Yes, I trained with them & the kits included.

I paid an extra £100 for LED & then they stopped doing the original lamp. So the people who trained after me didn't have to pay any extra.

It was last July & I'm still not over it :(.

Ohhh that's bitter! I haven't trained with them but thinking of doing a conversion course how long does the shellac take to cure in the LED is it 60secs for colour coats? Each?
Thanks for your help!

10s base, 1 minute colour & top coats.

Kate Taylor is in Cheltenham if you're in Gloucs?. You'd need to have all the correct prep products & lamp for the course but I really enjoyed mine.

You need a model with natural nails on the day.

Yes that is something I'm looking into once I've got all the correct equipment
Thanks again

My uv lamp recently broke :( and as S2 don't do them anymore I bought the shellac led which I'm very happy with. It's smaller and takes up less room on my desk, quicker as mentioned above and best of all: no uv bulbs to keep replacing as we all know how expensive they are

So although I was initially spitting feathers at having to fork out considerably more for the led lamp, I've now got over it and am glad I switched. x

Hi thanks for your reply! My friend has very kindly lent me hers to try out! As she has 2! However I don't have the corrrct power cable for it as she needs it for her other lamp and the cable I have fits but I'm only getting one LED light come on? Is it possible for my cable to not be strong enough? Any other suggestions?!
Thank you

Possibly the step down transformer in the plug, we've had to change step down transformers in ceiling lights to cope with how little energy they require.

I'm hoping that when the nec beauty show is on that s2 will have an offer on lamps, they had a brilliant one 3 months ago but I couldn't spare the cash.

I'd love to have two lamps eventually.
