Career change from beauty to hair stylist

Hi, I am a beauty therapist, and been in the industry for the last 20 years, however for about the last 10 years I have wanted to change over to hairdressing/styling but I have no idea where to begin!
I have 3 children, so time and funds are limited, Any advice or points in the right direction would be appreciated. I live in London. Thanks

I have 2 kids and just turned 40, I have also been working in beauty mainly but decided to enrol on a hairdressing level 2 course at our local college and to my delight it was free as I receive working and child tax credits, plus our income is below £15,800 as we work part time around the children.
