Hi Geeks

I have started using cellex c and LOVE IT!! Just wanted to start a thread to see if others have tried it because i am having one issue : I put on the cellex-c serum and then the Hydra B complex, then my moisturizer. When i put on liquid foundation sometimes right after i apply the cellex-c and Hydra B complex it looks like my skin is shedding. The only other way i can describe what happens is to say that it seems like the foundation (or possibly the cellex-c) is sloughing off. This doesnt happen every single time, but it does happen a lot.
Hope someone will have some advice :wink2:

hi

sorry if i'm being a bit dumb but what exactly is cellex c and hydra b complex? from what you have said about your skin shedding it sounds like some sort of skin peel.

Check out the link: Cellex-C International Inc. then cllick on "physicians, skincare professionals" and look around. The web site has much more info and you can see how it all came to be by clicking (on their homepage) on the top of the page where it says "A New Wrinkle in Skincare".
i dont know if you guys have it over there, if not i suggest ordering online. I use it, my mum, best friends, even the girl i buy my makeup from at the Chanel counter all use it! It is supposably a celebrity secret, but who really knows. All i know is it is amazing. I am 23, had quite a few acne scars and still small white heads, and was begining to see frown lines. I have been using this week for 4 weeks and the difference is shocking. I dont wear foundation any more! My skin's clarity is unreal, it is super smooth and the frown lines are gone (they weren't anything big to start with though). My mum is 49 and has been using for 10 weeks and she seriously looks about 40! skin is smooth and her wrinkiles are very noticably refined, almost like very fine lines now, but her skin isn't thin! Cellex-c does not thin the skin like other types of products, although cellex c is unique, nothing else has 10% vitiman C, they even have a super serum at 17%. A 30ml. bottle lasts about 3 months. I should sell this stuff i love it so much! Here in Canada it is sold through dermatologists or estheticiana and very high end department stores. sephora.com carries it too. Anyways, check it out because its great...i love sharing secrets !!:)

Cellex-C High Potency Serum : (from web site)
Physical Description:
A lightweight, oil-free formulation containing the full complement of Cellex-C signature ingredients.

Primary Benefit:
The Patented Complex in High-Potency Serum works synergistically to encourage a firm, youthful, elastic quality in the skin. Regular use will make skin look 5 to 10 years younger.

Primary Ingredients:
L-ascorbic acid, tyrosine and zinc.

Skin Types/conditions:
All, except the most sensitive skin.

When to use:
Once daily.

Features

  • A lightweight liquid containing the full complement of the Cellex-C signature ingredients – pure L-ascorbic acid, tyrosine, and zinc sulphate – supplemented by hyaluronic acid and a particular group of water soluble bioflavonoids which have a remarkable effect on the feel of the skin’s elasticity.
  • Cellex-C High-Potency Serum contains the optimal concentration of the Patented Complex required to work best on areas of the face that are prone to develop wrinkles, age spots or sagging skin.
  • Cellex-C is the only skin care line to be licensed to utilize the Bioderm patent created by Dr. Lorraine Faxon Meisner.
  • Contains 10% L-ascorbic acid—the only form of vitamin C that the body can recognize and utilize to promote collagen production.
  • Contains tyrosine. Medical literature states that, when tyrosine is combined with ascorbic acid, it helps to promote regeneration of new connective tissue through the stimulation of fibroblasts enabling them to make more collagen.
  • Contains zinc. A mineral shown to help support increased collagen turnover stimulated by ascorbic acid. Zinc is also known to be an essential component of collagenase, which is required to dismantle old, defective and stiffened collagen in order for new collagen to be constructed.
  • Contains bioflavonoids. These particular bioflavonoids were chosen because they have been shown in laboratory testing to have the ability to bind with collagen fibers as well as help protect them against further attack by free radicals.
  • Oil-free, ideal for all skin types.
Benefits

  • Can help you look 5 to 10 years younger.
  • Regular use will dramatically reduce the visible signs of aging—fine lines, wrinkles, age spots and sagging skin.
  • Treated skin will gradually appear firmer and smoother with improved texture, tone and overall radiance.
  • Helps older and prematurely aged skin to look, behave and feel like younger skin.
  • This formulation is extremely well tolerated and can be used by men and women without fear of troublesome skin reactions such as sunlight sensitivity.
  • Delivers up to twenty times more active vitamin C than your body can absorb orally.
  • Generally improvement in the overall appearance of the skin can be seen within 8 — 12 weeks of daily use.
Directions

  1. Cleanse and tone.
  2. Apply Cellex-C High-Potency Serum*.
  3. Apply Hydra 5 B-Complex.
  4. Apply moisturizer if required.
*Cellex-C formulations should be applied every 24 hours.
Note:
Initially, a slight tingling may be experienced. Discontinue if the tingling becomes uncomfortable or lasts more than 5 minutes. In this case, the skin may be too sensitive to tolerate Cellex-C High-Potency Serum, and you should switch to Cellex-C Serum for Sensitive Skin.
The color of this product may change due to environmental conditions. This color change is part of the biochemical-stabilization process and will not affect the efficacy of the product when used as directed.
Caution:
Avoid the eye area. Use Cellex-C Eye Contour Gel or Eye Contour Cream Plus around the eyes. Avoid hairline and eyebrows, as this product may cause discoloration, particularly on blond or grey hair.
When applying Cellex-C High-Potency Serum to your neck, please be aware that it may leave a clear residue on your collar which could oxidize and turn light brown. These stains will usually wash out provided the clothes are laundered as soon as possible after wearing.
Ingredients Include:
Ascorbic acid*, acetyl tyrosine*, zinc sulphate*, sodium hyaluronate, bioflavonoids.
*Patented Cellex-C Complex internationally protected by U.S. Patent No. 4,938,969.

and the hydra B complex is : (from the website)
Physical Description:
An oil-free, crystal clear gel containing an extraordinarily high percentage of hyaluronic acid—the body’s own natural moisturizer.

Primary Benefit:
Smoother, silkier, more radiant looking skin will be noticed in 3 - 6 weeks.

Primary Ingredients:
Hyaluronic acid, pantothenic acid.

Skin Types / Conditions:
All.

When to use:
Once or twice a day, with moisturizer.

Features:

  • The seemingly miraculous active ingredient is pure hyaluronic acid—one of the most effective moisturizing agents ever discovered by medical science. Hydra 5 B-Complex utilizes natures own incredible moisturizer to improve the smoothness, suppleness and texture of your skin.
  • Identified biochemically as a glycosaminoglycan (GAG), hyaluronic acid was isolated about sixty years ago from vitreous humor. It’s name is derived from the Greek word for glass—hyalos—which accurately describes its transparent, glassy appearance.
  • The surface layers of the skin are supported from below by columns of fibers made up mostly of collagen and elastin. This network of fibers form the ‘molecular sponge’ known as connective tissue. The spaces within this sponge are filled with a composition of water, protein complexes and hyaluronic acid. This jelly-like complex is necessary for transportation of essential nutrients from the bloodstream, via the capillary network, to the living cells of the skin.
  • Hyaluronic acid is a natural substance found in great abundance in young skin, synovial fluid and other tissues in humans and animals. Over time, oxy radicals, produced mostly through exposure to pollutants and sunlight, degrade and destroy hyaluronic acid. Fifty year olds are estimated to have less than half the hyaluronic acid they had in youth.
  • Contains genetically derived hyaluronic acid not an animal derived substance.
  • Contains pantothenic acid (vitamin B-5). Studies show that this vitamin helps speed wound healing.
  • Can be used by men and women including those with sensitive skin.
  • Oil-free, crystal clear gel which instantly gives your skin a silky smooth texture. Ideal for all skin types.
Benefits:

  • Facilitates better absorption of vitamin C.
  • Supplements the skin’s natural biological replacement of hyaluronic acid.
  • Skin feels more resilient and extraordinarily smooth to the touch. Perfect base for all types of make-up.
  • Restores youthful translucency and buoyancy to the skin.
  • Smoother, more radiant looking skin will be noticed in 3 — 6 weeks.
Directions:

  1. Cleanse and tone.
  2. Apply Cellex-C High-Potency Serum or Serum for Sensitive Skin. (If you are using Skin Firming Cream or Skin Firming Cream Plus, apply Hydra
  3. B-Complex first.)
  4. Apply Hydra 5 B-Complex.
  5. Apply moisturizer.
Note:
This product begins its moisturizing work beneath the surface of your skin. It is not intended for surface hydration, so you must use an additional moisturizer. During the first two or three weeks, absorbency may be greater for some people than others. Begin by applying Hydra 5 B-Complex a little more generously for the first few weeks.
Gradually you will notice that the skin no longer absorbs the fluid as quickly. This is a sign that your skin has restored much of its moisture balance. Once this happens, only a small amount of Hydra 5 B-Complex is required to maintain this. Your skin will regulate the intake automatically.
Caution:
Avoid direct contact with the eyes.
Ingredients Include:
Hyaluronic acid, pantothenic acid (vitamin B-5).
Packaging:
30 mL glass bottle with applicator.

Too bad, there doesn't seem to be anyone here who has or does use Cellex-c. Maybe someone will show up...:)

Hi Honeybee, have you tried waiting a few minutes between the applications allowing each product to completely absorb before appling your foundation. Just a thought. I have tried Cellex-c, one of the starter kits but had to stop using due to being very sensitive. I don't wear a foundation so can't really help out there other than to suggest trying to allow each product to absorb first before applying the next. Will inquire from one of my co-workers who retails the product to see if she has any recommendations.

Thanks so much! I have waited about 2 minutes before putting on additional products. I find the skin is still sloughing even when i apply moisturizer!! not all the time, only once in a while. Could it be that i am not exfoliating enough? i exfoliate about twice per week. Maybe i should do it more?
