I've had no training in doing gels but most home kits i've used fro stores i've managed to do simple enough, well i bought this uv kit hoping i'd have nice long lasting tips, but sadly the gel will peel off really easy..

Is there a reason why,the lights are fake UV's?
Not enough gel?

I've bought this other gel from asda stores for £10 and tried that but it will also peel off..

I would suggest you go get some training in doing extensions before doing them on a member of the public, as you have no idea what you you may or may not be doing wrong.

Perhaps you are not applying it correctly because you are not trained, I have spent thousands on training. Perhaps the kit is not of good quality professionals spend hundreds on the correct kit which is safe and good quality.

I am responding in the hope that this is not a joke as there are DIYers out there who actually belive they can do the same job as a professional using cheap cr** without training.

Is this a joke? I can't bring myself to comment.

Doing a professional nail course does cost money, however it does teach you the correct long lasting methods for doing nails.

As far as buying products from Asda etc again there is a reason why it's cheap you do get what you pay for!

Okay some harsh replies,i'm just asking for advice not to be battered about this..
I'm not doing it on other people just myself it came with very simple instructions, just said apply the tips file, apply gel then cure under the light, use the cleanser apply another layer then cure and wipe excess gel.

Thats all it said and i've search on google for reviews on the kit just incase it was the same for others, found this forum as theres no reviews on it..

And i am considering on doing a gel nail course with a company, just cannot afford it right now as i've just lost my job..

doing these gels are purely for myself.

I don't mean this in a disrespectful way but I thought you were kidding at first. I say this because you got a cheap kit of ebay and you haven't had any training...I mean realistically, what did you expect.

Get yourself some training with a good product. Asking questions about why something from ebay being used with a lack of training doesn't work is like asking "how long is a piece of string."

I'm not saying this to be mean. I'm saying this because hopefully this will inspire you to get some training with a good product if nails are what you're serious about doing :)

ETA: I appreciate that you want to learn on a budget but learning nails and beauty is kinda like learning to drive in that if it was a cheap and easy process to learn, it wouldn't cost as much and people would get their license with great ease. Ultimately, it just doesn't work that way.

You have to remember who you are asking for help though - passionate professionals who do this for living! :)
As waffle suggested get yourself some training hun, give your local Collages a call x

Hi Hun please realise that it is actually quite dangerous to mess about with chemicals that you have no experience of. The kit looks like it is supplied with hard gel which is only removed via filing it off of the natural nail which you would be attempting to do without any training and which means you have a strong chance of damaging your nails.

I'm sorry to hear you've lost your job but maybe ask at the job centre about the possibility of funded nail technician training.

Good luck and please be very very careful at experimenting without having the full knowledge of what you are using and doing to yourself.

Id love to have training,i enjoy designing tips i've got around the house, and my mate asked if i was doing a nail course months ago,i said i wasn't but she was with EssentialNails.com so i've mailed her asking more about them today and they do payment plans.

So i'm waiting for a brochure..
I've just found it hard to find any courses that doesn't involve going to colleges.I need a job for my car,i didnt mean to sound disrespectful toward anyone,i've had like 3 temp jobs since being back home from my job aboard when my nan passed away in feb, finding myself in limbo holding any jobs that come my way but they've all been for summer hol's for xmas,so i'm back to square one,i'm doing a home course with the open uni so i can carry on finding work while studying and nail courses are appealing to me after my friend recommend that site.

I don't want to offend anyone.Have anyone trained with EssentialNails.com?
