Hi all. I belong in hair but have recently stopped biting my nails and now have nice, shapely, medium length claws- success!

A problems I encounter all the time is this- I paint my nails carefully with base coat, two thin layers of polish, wrapping the tip of the free edge and top coat, again making sure the tip is 'wrapped.' But still- the polish always comes off the very tip of my nail. It's fine if I'm wearing a light colour as it's not too noticeable, but with darker shades it's awful.

Any advice?

Lyn

How long is the polish lasting? Prior to applying your base coat you need to make sure you're nails are squeaky clean and dry, however as a hairdresser your nails are exposed to more damaging chemicals than most people so this too will effect how long your polish lasts.

Yeah I wash and dry hands thoroughly and use Chip Skip before applying polish.

Prob out of options, stupid hairdresser hands! :)

Polish lasts 2 days on average. That said, I'm very fussy. One chip and it's all off! :p

Perfect candidate for gel polish! Give it a try :) x

Definitely will :)
