that looks great cathie

I had a quick try of this today....picture not so great as usual!

I sculpted the tip out using Ruby (Ezflow Earthstones), covered the whole nail with Voodoo (EZFlow Carnival) and the built shape with clear.....needs a bit of perfecting, the black is really difficult to work with on a large surface!

Lovely, well done Cathie x

Also I was thinking, if you aren't proficient in sculpting, you could do this on a clear tip but your tip would have to be thinned *** paper thin, your red would also have to be wafer thin and 'gone off' before applying the black but I think it could be done this way....I'll have a go next time I have a bit of free time!

Yes, you can use a clear tip, apply your red powder in zone 1 and create your smile line and then apply your pink in zones 2 and 3. File into shape, then apply 2 coats of CND Voodoo.

Now why didn't I think of using enamel, defo an easier option

I use Gels does this mean its impossible for me to create? *sigh*
I guess if you have a red gel, then no it isn't, you could either sculpt it or use a clear tip.....and get a black polish, much easier than faffing with black powders or gels lol!

Hi, Cathie,

I see you are from Fishponds, Bristol - I live in Filton. Am just out of college and as I couldn't get any skill-building training with a professional here in Bristol, I have arranged for a 1-2-1 with a trainer from NSI in Manchester who will travel to my home, but, you've guessed it - at a hefty price! Do you know of any professional 1-2-1 training I could take up locally as I haven't yet got the confidence to go out on my own and I need plenty of practice!!

Luv your pic by the way! How clever is that :)

Hi, Cathie,

Got your PM message. Still getting to grips with the site :green: and not allowed yet to PM you back, so.... thankx so much for the offer of 'shadowing' you. That would be fantastic!! :) I hope I won't be in your way and promise to ask questions when the client has gone!! Where are you based and when is it possible to come along, please? Any day will suit as you can see I am retired but hopefully you won't think I look like an OAP! lol!!! Can't wait, I am so excited!! It's just what I have been looking for - to watch a professional at work!! :):)

Thankx again.

Babs xx:hug:xx
