Hey,
I wondered if anybody could recommend a REALLY good, chrome nail powder. Iv order a couple now and tried them and they just come out looking like weird glitter over lay as appose to that beautiful fine chrome look. So if anyone knows where to get a decent one, I'd really appreciate it
I want it to look like the pic Iv uploaded.
Thanks

If you are getting a glitter effect then it's wrong technique, some of the mistakes I've heard made are:-

Trying to rub the pigment into colour coat, it works better on topcoat (some have used it over colour but it works better over topcoat)

Not removing sticky layer of top coat - you need either a No-Wipe Top Coat or to remove the sticky layer with a DRY LINT FREE wipe. No finishing wipe solution, acetone, IPA, etc. just a dry pad. If you end up with bits of fluff then it's not a lint free pad, 'lint' is bits of fluff.

Do not apply with a brush, it needs to be an eyeshadow applicator or some are using sponges, same thing but bigger. Some are using fingers, not a great idea from a hygiene or over-exposure perspective.

Rub hard, it will shine when you buff it with the applicator.

I suspect your issue is not removing the sticky layer, thats usually the reason for glitter effect rather than chrome

I've used the Magpie Beauty pigment called Tiara and the WildFlowers Chrome pigment, the WildFlowers one was £25 from USA, and I'm not sure if Tiara is in stock at the moment, it sells out pretty quickly, you'd have to check with Magpie Beauty.

For Gel Polish, I'm using Gel2 No Wipe Top coat

Yes, but it was months ago when the whole chrome thing kicked off, maybe they've stopped shipping to the uk

Hi, can I please ask Trinity, as I am also having issues with this, do you do a colour, then wipe the sticky layer off, rub the chrome powder on, then finish with a non wipe top coat??
I am finding that mine just looks like glitter too and they all seem to come with very little instructions.
Many thanks

apply colour, apply top (if it needs wipe, then use a dry lint free pad), rub chrome with eyeshadow applicator and make sure you rub until it squeeks, apply top coat again (*2 if needed)

I've managed to get the mirror chrome effect, I just can't get it to stay on without chipping on natural nails? Only lasting a few days any ideas?
