Chrome nails losing its chrome look

Hi I'm pretty new to this, just doing all my nail qualifications at the mo. I'm doing chrome nails but recently after putting the gel top coat on the chrome mirror effect disappears to just glitter. Is there a reason for this? Anything I'm doing wrong?

Are you using a no wipe topcoat? I found when I started doing chrome when I used my normal topcoat with a sticky layer over the chrome it would dull it and it wouldn't have the chrome affect anymore! X

Make sure your using a no wipe top coat. If you don't have one you can use one with a sticky layer but you have to wipe with a paper towel until it's squeaky. Then apply your chrome pigments, and then apply 2 coats of top coat to ensure they last until a the clients next appointment. Personally I always have a separate top coat for chromes.
