Can i ask do any of you get clients asking for earlier appointment days before there orginal appointment due to growth or breakage. Ive jad 2 clients this week asking for appointments and saying if i cant get them in to cancel all there appointments. Ive decided now not to bow down to this and now ive lost 2 clients but there was no way i could of got them in. I work 10hrs a day and im fully booked till September which all my clients no about and also they are now asking me to work Sundays which occasionally i do when i go on holidays or Xmas time but i do tell them i also have to clean my house and see my husband once in awhile lol. What would you off done

You can only work what you work. If it's not convenient for them it's tough.

They need to be organised and get themselves booked in, I have found making recurrent appointments for my regular ladies much better as they'd ask last minute and I'd either work extra or turn them away, neither of which I wanted to do but since I took control it works much better.

I had this with one regular client and it became ridiculous and I had to tell her to find another nail tech.
The bottom line is do you really want them as a client? I was relieved once I'd told her to go.

Don't let anyone bully you like that, you need to have a little bit of the attitude "if you don't like it, TS!" You obviously have a great clientele built up if you're booked out to September, it's not your fault that they are having problems coming in at their scheduled time, it's ok to make accommodations for someone, if it's possible, but don't let them make you feel bullied about it, they can take their business elsewhere. Some clients are ok to lose, not everyone is a good fit, some people you/me/any nail tech just can't work with.

I do advise my clients when they book in for 6 months at a time that sometimes i wouldnt be able to change appointments round cause im fully booked and i do advise them regarding treatments about how many weeks in between each appointment they need but unfortunately some dont take advice very well and then this is what happens.

If you are that fully booked then you have the luxury of picking and choosing which clients you want to keep and you can afford to weed out the bullies.

Whether you work 6 hours a week or 60 hours a week it has nothing to do with them it's entirely up to you whether you can, or want, to fit them in. They wouldn't dream of ringing up Marks and Spencer and saying they wanted them to open 7pm on a Sunday as it was more convenient for them and if they wont they will never shop there again!

Unfortunately we increasingly live in a society where people think if they throw around threats and demands they will get what they want.

If you lose them as clients it makes room for a little breathing space or new clients that respect you and your business.

I see this often with stylists that get so busy that it causes stress of one kind or another with demanding clients. There is one option that some don't consider, if you are getting that busy that you're booked up so far advance you need to put your prices up. You may find you'll get more respect [emoji110]

Just to add, it's your business, don't be pushed around. You need to be firm and tell them politely where to go [emoji4]
