Hello everyone

I am new to salongeek and I understand that products are usually down to personal preference (experience) but what products do you find work the best for you.

I've always been under the impression that CND are the best in the nail world and hold their premium price for that reason however, I never realised just how many makes there is out there. I'm starting up mobile and I know a lot of it will be down to trial and error but I am so lost I don't even know where to start!

I am offering shellac, brisa and acrylics and would very much like and appreciate any advice

Thank you x

Advice on what?

You'll need to be more specific :)

Hi Kirsty

It's amazing how many brands there are available now and it's a mind field, you think you have found one you are happy with and then you come on here and see so many great techs raving about another brand and it's easy to think should I have that one! My advise is to research which products catch your eye and maybe go have some done in another salon see what you think of them as is personal preference x

That's a very good idea, thank you for your advice. It's all so daunting when you start I guess it's just getting your head around it all.

Sorry like what brand do you use for gel polish, acrylic and gel extensions? Are cnd really the best out there? Is it worth offering clients the choice of brands when it comes to shellac i.e offer more than one make. My questions are endless to be honest so any help is greatly appreciated.

You'll get a different answer to that from each person you ask. Most of us are passionate about the brands and products we use.
I trained with NSI acrylic and have tried a few others but have recently converted to CJP nail systems and absolutely love it.
I use Cuccio veneers and polishes and have yet to find anything that offers the same coverage and longevity.

I've been reading some very good things about cjp, I'm thinking of getting a trial kit but wouldn't have the confidence for the master kit yet. Thank you for the advice on Cuccio I think I will give it a go too, I've been researching but feel advice on here is better as you've all used your products. Thank you so much for your advice

You're very welcome [emoji4]

I'd say the reputation of CND is because they have fab training, excellent c/service and aftercare, the products are manufactured by them not private labelled or from a large factory that makes the same products but packages under a different brand name.
Research is paramount in the nail industry especially as some brands make claims that are purely marketing not actual truth.
