CND LED lamp?

Hi all
Just looking for some advice please. Recently purchased the new CND Led Lamp & the majority of my clients are getting on with it absolutely fine. But a few have had to come back because there nails have chipped before the 2 week mark.
I use all the correct cnd products & I did never have this problem before when I was using the uv lamp all my clients shellac lasted 2 or more weeks with the occasional chip depending on some clients work/lifestyle etc

Could this be down to hand placement at all? I'm struggling to wonder why as I do think it seems pretty easy! But just wondering.

Hi, I also having problems with the new lamp.... Not my luck with lamps..
Noticed at the end the nails feel tacky????
Not completely finnished??
Even after wiping with the alcohol (yes using the correct liquid unless their is a new one we should of brought??)
And it's tacky??? Course after awhile of drying it's ok but still feels not set?
Had to do a few layers of top coat. And still the same.. Then did a layer of clear polish to stop the tack???
Thats not right. Aby advice?
And well will see if it lasts the two weeks..

The advice given at TheEvent4 was that if your client has quite long nails get them to pull there hand back a little otherwise the tip of the nail may not get the correct exposure to the lights ☺

If the product isn't curing properly then you need to check hand placement. The 'dimples' in the base are a good indicator for your clients to know where they should place their fingers, however for the first few times I've also been visually checking their placement myself before starting the cure. Not had any problems with curing here as a result so you may want to try that.

I didn't rush to buy this lamp I thought I would wait and read up on the feedback... I now can't decide if the problems are the lamp or the new top coat or both?

I love the lamp how fast it is and how small it is and the topcoat looks amazing but I've had to replace 4 of my nails already in the last week and I have another 2 chipped now! Only used it on the one client (and my mum I put one on her today as one of hers came off, she's had them 2 weeks & I used the uv) since I got it and got a few booked in this week so will just have to wait and see if it's just me or the lamp lol!! Xx

Hmm. I am worried its the lamp for me as now I am checking their nails are in the right place lets see.
Must say the lamp is beautiful!!! Love the shape and weight!
And speeds!

But worried as I have also had a client come back.

Do toy guys get a tacky feeling to the nails after wiping? To me its like they are not fully cured.

Im wondering this also. I notice when I place all 5 fingers in the lamp the thumbs on its side so doesn't get even exposure from the bulbs. I would suggest curing 4 fingers on each hand then the two thumbs separately if your chips are on the thumbs

But in the new lamp the side bulbs are angled to allow for this. What I was more wondering was if clients were spreading their fingers too far apart and so missing the light for that reason.

I'm having major issues. Not sure if it's the new lamp or the brisa bond. I've calked the company twice to get some advice. I've been doing nails for over a decade without any issues at all. I'm so frustrated! Nails seem to be nice and shiny after they are finished but not bonding at all to the nail plate. Shellac services are fine.

Hi there,

Are you checking that all the toes are under the LED light? It could be the way the client has positioned their feet in the lamp.

On me it's the middle 3 fingers, but I've been really busy the last week
Since I done my nails so it might just be wear and tear on myself, and I am guilty of not properly sealing the edges on my own nails at times so I know that doesn't help lol! I will soon see if any of my clients come back, fingers crossed none do!! Xx

I've been looking at nail polishes and lamps and the price of lamps differ massively .. Although they all have the same wattage and bulb wattage, is there a big difference in a cheaper lamp and an expensive lamp? Also what is you favourite brand when it comes nails ? And which seem to last the longest ?

The wattage of a lamp only signifies the amount of power it uses, it doesn't tell you anything about the UV output which is what matters. When choosing a lamp you need to choose the one recommended by the manufacturer of the brand of gel or gel polish you using.

Can I suggest that you google Doug Schoon and read what he has to say on using the correct lamp. He is an independent scientist who specialises in the nail industry so he has no brand bias. So many new techs get themselves confused about lamps so the best thing you could do is research, educate yourself about how lamps work and why you should choose the one which matches your gel and not make a choice purely on price. By doing this you will be making the best decision for yourself, your business and your clients.
