I don't currently do a lot of colour correction however in the last week have had 3 clients wishing to stip colour from there hair so was hoping someone could give me some advice on the best way to do this.

One of my clients is wanting to strip black out her base 6 hair and the other 2 are wanting to get red out (one from XXl Live arghhhh)

I did try a bleach bath on the black hair and it did lift the hair a few shades however it was majorally uneven.

Am I better with bleach baths for all or using a colour eraser?

Thanks in advance

Hiya ,ive done a lot of colour correction and for lifting black out depending on how light they want there target shade to be ,i always use effasol, loreal but hair has to be in relativley good condtion or it could be a little harsh :D

I also use effasol but can leave hair v porous so can make re-colouring slightly harder :) xx

I've had two clients that have had XXL Colour, both Purple
I told them;
"Make your appt several weeks in advance(one made hers for 8wks in adv.) and in the mean time, use Head&Shoulders/Medicated Shampoo with every wash, but use a good conditioner(Try retail here:lick:)."
When they came in for their appt, it was no longer bright red, but more wishywashy salmon/faded tangerine :D

This makes things much easier!
I did a*sort of* bleach bath, but diluted bleach just a little bit.
And sprayed PM SuperStrongSpray straight onto the hair, then applied the bleach, there-fore basically making it a BleachBath, but without shampoo.
When the colour was almost to where i wanted it, I sprayed extra SuperStrong and AwapuhiMist on it, to dilute it even more.
After the hair was recoloured, it felt in better condition than what they came in with.
(I only do it that way when they have XXL!)
HTH :D

Xxl is probably the worst thing to get out, i normally use affinage colour erase, but it takes a while, it keeps the condition of your hair nice, you can use it as many times as you like until it lifts, obviously your not going to get it really blonde, you could offer highlights and maybe a base colour in between to tone the colour down x

Thanks I've never used a stripper before so will give that a try.
