Hi can some help me im quite new to hairdressing nearly completed my level 3 at college. my friend currently has 5/66 wella colour touch on hair she has alot of bulid up years of colouring! she wants to go to 6/3 . Can I achieve this! eraser colour remover the going in with 6/1 if hair is quite golden when colour removed? any ideas please!! maybe should i test a piece of hair first?

Id definitely do a test first as you may find a 6/0 will be enough if the hair has a lot of gold in it anyway!!!!

Thanks think I will do colour correction seems a tad frightening!

any other suggestions please!

Hi Kath.

What base color is her natural hair?

If her natural base is 4 or 5, then I would erase the color first, then you could apply the 6/1 if there is alot of gold left behind.

It really is difficult to say without seeing the hair after the color strip.

Also, if you need to lift the hair to achieve the 6/3, then your best bet is to use a permanent 6/1 tint. If you use the color touch 6/1, it may not achieve the desired color.

Also, you say she has years of color build up. If her hair is very porous or dry, it may go darker when you apply your chosen shade, so you may have to apply a color a shade lighter.

Any how, if your not sure, just erase the color first, then access the hair and color and go from there.

xx
