I was talked into trying framesi 4/65, never used this make, it wasn’t good, transparent roots, purpley mid lengths and flat ends ( this was over a lovely red )
I used what I had at home to colour again which was koleston 44/44, would have been nice but roots and mid ends a lovely red, but ends a bit coppery
I’m now thinking I need to start again and use a colour reducer. My question is as I’m a home hairdresser I don’t carry loads of colours. Any idea what I might be left with ? I’m about 30% white and naturally around a coppery 6
I’m aiming for a 55/55 ( I’m reststant )

Imagine removing the majority of artificial colour pigments leaving your natural and then lightening by at least 1-2 levels depending on the % of peroxide used previously. This will expose the underlying pigment so you’d be left with a raw level 7/8. Remember to use a Demi that’s at least 1-2 levels lighter than your target colour when re-colouring.

Your result will probably be around a 7 and extremely warm! I like affinage eraser for a colour reducer. But I've heard that zalon is good too. I'd maybe look at using colour touch, 77/45or 66/45to re colour, if you have it use a porosity equaliser prior to colour application.

Thank you for your replies, I’ve had a thought, now my roots are covered i might try coulor touch first to see if I can even the colour first 55/55. Ofbthis fails I’m going to do the colour reducer.
One more question....do I have to use a demi after or can I go straight into a double base permanent ? My white is very resistant and colour touch doesn’t cover.

You have to use an oxidising colour afterwards and they recommended using a Demi because there will still be some of the old colour molecules remaining that will re-oxidise and grow bigger.
However, as the hair has previously been coloured, it shouldn’t be so resistant.
Why not test a small patch to see how it goes?
You might still need to use a double base on your roots.

Ok sounds great, so much help, thank you
